You do not need experience to start. You need a character and a willingness to react to the people around you.
Last updated:
1. Build a character, not an avatar
Give your character a name, an age, a background and something they want. You will make better choices in a scene when you know who you are playing.
2. Stay in character
Treat the world as real. Speak and act as your character would, and keep real-world information out of in-character conversations.
3. Give other players something to react to
Roleplay is a conversation. Leave room for others to answer, and avoid forcing outcomes on other characters.
4. Accept losing
Getting arrested, robbed or hurt is part of the story. A scene is more fun for everyone when you play it out instead of fighting the result.
5. Ask questions
Every server has its own rules and culture. On Homebase, the community and staff are in the Discord. Learn the vocabulary in the roleplay glossary, then join Homebase.
